LOORS Round 6 in Surprise AZ
San Diego, CA – As you may know, Jeff Seifert is a big time off-road racer competing in the ever growing Lucas Off-Road racing series. JS and crew were recently in Surprise Arizona this past weekend for Round 6 of the LOORS series competing in the Unlimited Pro2 class. JS has been a close friend for many years and we are trying to do our best to keep everyone in the loop as to the racing efforts and how the team is doing on a per race basis. Jeff and I had some good laughs yesterday as he was putting the pen to paper on his “Synopsis†for how the weekend went. . . If I could only have recorded our conversation and show you his notes, it would have each and every one of you falling out of your chair in laughter!!! So low and behold. . . Here’s JS’ “Synopsisâ€
Friday May 18th:
We had a great practice session with a time of 8th out of 17 trucks. Qualified 11th due to a red flag situation. . . Not Bad.
Saturday May 19th:
Qualifying 11th put us on the track positioned with Brian Deegan and Jeremy McGrath in front of us. Felt really good about our Friday run and the truck was really working well. Have to give it up to the Mickey Thompson guys for getting us the forward bite that was much needed.
2 laps into the race we lost a power steering belt which ended our race for the day. . .
Motor swap til 2am Sunday morning was fun to get the truck ready for Sunday’s race!
Sunday May 20th:
Sunday’s race was based on current points and where you were positioned for the start of the race. This is where Jeff and I were having some good laughs because I was heckling  him and coming up with some pretty funny comments. . . “So Jeff, Let me guess where you were lined up for this race. . .?”
Starting in the last position of 17th on course, we began the race well and got off to a good start. . .
After some good laps we were able to get up to the 8th position. Checking up for a crash, we were ran over and the right rear shock was torn off the truck. Once again bad luck hovering over us, we were ended early with another DNF.
On a Good Note:
As a team we are really working well together. I really can’t thank each and every one enough for the help and support that continues each and every race weekend. . . as well as in between races! We have some of the best sponsors and people helping us that we are very fortunate to have. So once again, THANK YOU! The team and truck continue to move on the up and up. . . We will get there with determination and persistence.
We made some new friends at the track this past weekend and hope to get our sponsors some TV time!
